Originally released in 2001, 'Last Fair Deal Gone Down' saw Katatonia ambitiously expanding their sound to create one of the most celebrated Metal titles of the year. Containing high-emotion and searing social commentary, the album became a perfect representation of Katatonia's poignant brand of dark rock & metal.

This mid-price CD edition of 'Last Fair Deal Gone Down' features tracks from the 'Teargas' & 'Tonight's Music' singles, plus the updated artwork from Travis Smith, taken from the 2011 10th anniversary release. It will be presented in a jewel case packaging complete with a 12-page booklet and an OBI card.

Description

Katatonia was formed in 1991 by Anders NystrÃ¶m and Jonas Renkse. Their debut album was released in 1993, gaining the band recognition for their eclectic brand of gothic doom/death metal & joining acts such as Paradise Lot & My Dying Bride as one of the genre's defining bands. On future albums a more immediate and focused Katatonia sound came to the fore, starting with third album 'Discouraged Ones' - the main evolution point for modern day Katatonia - with recent albums integrating more progressive elements.

Containing 11 highly emotional and socially aware pieces, including the singles 'Teargas' and 'Tonight's Music', the album is a superb example of Katatonia's unique brand of Gothic-tinged Metal.

Following on from previous album 'Tonight's Decision', the album displayed a new-found maturity and accessibility only hinted at on their previous albums. The mournful vocals of Jonas are, as ever, ably backed by the inventive guitar work of Anders to create a potent and absorbing atmosphere.

Presented on double 180g vinyl in gatefold sleeve and includes 3 bonus tracks taken from the 'Teargas' and 'Tonight's Music' singles.

Katatonia is set to return in 2016 with their highly anticipated follow-up to 2012's acclaimed 'Dead End Kings'
