Recorded at The Doghouse in Nashville, Tennessee, with producer Steve Buckingham (producer of the previous releases 'Kiss And Tell' and 'Nightlife'), Solo features Martin at his astonishing best on fourteen tracks played, as the title suggests, completelysolo. Of this recording (incedentally, a hi fi buff and audio freak's dream come true) Taylor states "I'm always looking to develop my playing. What I do on the guitar is unique - I can bring one note out, make another one quieter, make other notes soundedgier, drawing out different textures from different strings so it sounds like there are two guitars playing."
