Premiere Irish singer Niamh Parsons delivers another gem: The Old Simplicity, produced by guitarist Dennis Cahill. Niamh's last CD, "Heart's Desire" (also produced by Cahill), was named Celtic Album of the Year by the Association of Independent Music and hailed as "simply magnificent traditional singing" by Irish Music Magazine. Niamh (pronounced "Neeve") has collected 14 songs for this outing from both traditional and contemporary sources, including an original from singer Linda Thompson.
Musicians include Niamh's highly talented guitar accompanist Graham Dunne, as well as some of the finest Chicago-based artists including fiddler Liz Knowles (Cherish the Ladies), accordion player John Williams (Solas), singer Kat Eggleston (Bohola), and Cahill himself (known for his duo with fiddler Martin Hayes). -
