Description
This is Jasmine's first compilation of 100% Belgian Popcorn sounds. They had previously incorporated Popcorn into several other projects including the 'Night Train" (JASCD960 & JASCD984) series. 'Popcorn' was named after the popularity of several James Brown singles and albums dedicated to the popcorn dance craze of the 1960s.
Alongside huge pop and r&b hits as Brook Benton's "Kiddio" to B-sides of hits by Ben E. King and The Exciters through to the hopelessly obscure, Herb Alpert produced track by The Untouchables. The one thing they all have in common is that addictive 'Popcorn' beat.
Includes fully detailed liner notes covering the origins of the scene and the artists involved in it.
