The two CD set features New Orleans music recorded in the fifties in New Orleans and San Francisco.The musicians are all famous New Orleans musicians and most of them are born in New Orleans. There are eight different bands. You will hear George Lewis & His New Orleans Jazzband, George Girard & His new Orleans Five, Alvin Alcorn’s Jam Session, Johnny Wiggs’ New Orleans Jazz Club Group, Kid Ory & His Creole Jazzband, Percy Humphrey’s Jam Session, Sharkey Bonano At Lenfant’s Lounge and Lee Collins At Joe Mare's Place. George Lewis and Kid Ory played many times at the Hangover Club in San Francisco where their sessions are recorded. All the other bands are recorded in New Orleans.
