  • Description

Rough Guides kick off their 15th anniversary year with the launch of an innovative new range of two CD digi-paks, at the regular price.

The Rough Guide to Afrobeat Revival is the first in the series and it features the funky African dance groove crafted by Nigeria's Fela Kuti with tracks by well-known contemporary artists such as Tony Allen, Seun Kuti and Antibalas as well as raw and up-and-coming talent. New generations worldwide continue to celebrate Fela Kuti's enduring legacy and his proclamation that "Music is the weapon of the future".

The Rough Guide To Afrobeat Revival is accompanied by a second free bonus CD by Kokolo, the band that came out of the early period of New York's modern Afrobeat revival scene. Founded by Venezuelan- American Ray Lugo and British trombonist Chris Morrow, the Afrobeat group embraces influences from Latin and Brazilian to funk, reggae and hip-hop.
