  • Description

The release of LET IT ROLL, the 10th album of Holland’s best-known bluesrockers The Juke Joints, coincides with the 10th anniversary of their ever-expanding fan club. As we have come to expect, the album is brimful of blues styles, incorporating Chicago blues, rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly, all linked by the band’s unmatched energy. As usual frontman Peter Kempe has penned some of the songs and the well-chosen covers truly contribute to the generally exuberant atmosphere, such as Steve Earle’s "Steve’s Last Ramble" and Rory Gallagher’s crowd-pleasing traditional "Bullfrog Blues", featuring Kempe on mandolin. The band´s status is underlined by the guest appearance of Holland´s best female blues singer, Barrelhouse's Tineke Schoemaker, who is featured on Marcia Ball’s rollicking "Louella" and Don Bryant’s "99 Pounds", which Ann Peebles sang to fame, and two contributions by renowned Dutch slide-guitarist Marcel Scherpenzeel on the title track and the John Lee Hooker classic "I’m In The Mood". Tracks: Million Miles From Nowhere / Let It Roll / Louella / Double Talk / Blues For The Soul / Treat My Baby / I’m In The Mood / Marie Marie / The Rumble / You Got To Move / 99 Pounds / Bullfrog Blues / Steve’s Last Ramble / Out Of The Blue / ‘K Gae Wee Naer Uus Toe (Going To My Hometwown) / Boogie At Midnight.
