Description
His first studio album in three years sees Mark joined by guitarist John Parricelli, bassist Dudley Phillips and drum supremo Martin France to create "a beautiful type of orchestral world jazz".
Mark plays sax and bass clarinet and explores a number of instrumental textures and combinations in a fascinating and passionate statement of compositional skill. Exploring grooves drawn from a wide range of influences including contemporary classical, folk and world music, Mark's empathetic writing allows room for each musician to push their instruments through fresh and spotaneous impovisations.
Mark first came to prominence in the mid '80s as a member of Loose Tubes and then as a co-founder of Perfect Houseplants. He has also found himself in much demand as a session player with everyone from June Tabor to Radiohead and is also a member of the nationwide Mercury Prize nominated Polar Bear.
