Perkins went on to record a string of rock & roll classics which have both influenced and been covered by many of the rock greats, from Elvis Presley to The Beatles. As well as being a highly successful songwriter, Carl Perkins also wrote hits for the likes of Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and The Judds. He was also a phenomenal guitarist whose playing style came to epitomise rock & roll and inspired George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds and many other aspiring guitarists.
