Description
Three separate sets from the 70's featuring performances from Norwegian singer Karin Krog, probably best known for her work with John Surman, Italian trumpet star and ECM recording artist Enrico Rava, and Swiss singer Miriam Klein, a Billie Holiday devotee who has performed and recorded in the US with pianist Roland Hanna, Roy Eldridge, Dextor Gordon and many others.
Recorded from shows broadcast during 1972, 1974 and 1978, the CD's programme features a 15 minute piece from Enrico Rava titled, 'Improvised Sequence', and a selection of jazz originals, American Song Book standards, some blues, and an improve original from Karin Krog with wordless vocals akin to Meredith Monk. A mixed bag of styles, but none the less, an interesting and entertaining programme.
Personnel: Karin Krog (vocals), Enrico Rava (trumpet), Miriam Klein (vocals), Klaus Koenig (piano), Peter Frei (bass), Peter Schmidlin (drums)
