In June 2020, 18-year-old Joshua Grant reached #1 in the Scottish singles chart with "Edinburgh" (a track written and recorded in his childhood bedroom), also reaching #34 in the UK download chart. Despite playing just five live shows in his short career, Joshua's musical career got off to a staggering start, having supported one of the biggest names in UK pop, Tom Walker, bagged the top spot in the Scottish charts with "Edinburgh" and performed on BBC Scotland's 'The Edinburgh Show' - "Despite being in New York for the date of the Tom Walker gig, there was no way I wasn't doing it. As soon as I got the email asking me to play I was online booking my plane ticket back home for 24 hours. The gig was everything I wanted it to be - the atmosphere, the crowd, the sound and spending time with Tom; it exceeded all my expectations". "Transparent" has received some expert input for this release. Joshua has been rubbing shoulders with musicial virtuosos including Boo Hewerdine and producer Mark Freegard, who have provided additional recording, mixing and mastering on the song. Mark Ellis, known for his Grammy-winning work on U2's album 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb', can be heard on electric guitars and bass, and Chris Pepper features on drums.
