Part travelogue, part poetry, part conversation and part recital, Jonts brainchild, Unlit, has evolved to be a completely unique and inspiring venture. Not content with the regular gig and CD audience dynamic and armed solely with an acoustic guitar and a headful of memories, Jont took the personal approach to the logical limit and directly to the living rooms of America (having dinner with Ginsberg in his NYC apartment along the way). By plugging into the network of fans he attracted by his appearance on the soundtrack to The Wedding Crashers, in 2006 Jont took Unlit across the USA through the houses of MySpacers hed never met and captured the magical aura of these nights in an online TV series called, The State Were In which he posted on Youtube as he went. On his return, the BBC asked him to curate a special Unlit for The BBCs Electric Proms and in 2008 has just completed the first ever Unlit tour of UK MySpace users houses, the new online TV series of which aptly named The House Were In. These magical little episodes are shot by film maker Dave Depares and fronted by Louis Theroux. Tom Baxter, Sam Sparro, Newton Faulkner, Joanaspolicewoman, Lou Rhodes, The Duke Spirit and Adem took Unlit from nomadic hybrid of house party and gig to its now cutting edge online TV status series and with all of these artists now enjoying mainstream acclaim or cult status the potential for Unlit and whoever it is next to discover seems endless. But still at the very heart of this new movement is Jonts own music and Supernatural is a devilish, beguiling waltz through intimate and emotional territory, with a sonic architecture completely different to the current releases of his contemporaries. Supernatural is a dusty trail through classic songwriting with touches of folk and soul. Tracks: Supernatural / Candlelit / Sweetheart / Don't Waste All Of Your Tears / Suzette / Another Door Closes / House Of Dreaming / How You Do Nothing / Another World / The Way Home. Featured recently on Radio 4's Loose Ends & The Beat (World Service).
