  • Description

The explosion of Irish music in 1950s London included two influential players, one from Tyrone, a trend setter among banjo players who was renowned in the thriving Irish music scene at the White Hart and the Hibernian dance hall in Fulham Broadway. Theother, an original accordeon player who was the leader of the Galtymore ceili band in Cricklewood. Liam Farrell and Joe Whelan, are very much part of the current mainstream of Irish music in London, having played together for approaching two decades, onoccasion with flute player James Carty and Reg Hall. This exciting and talented quartet have produced an album which is a vibrant insight into a living tradition and is destined to become a classic amongst Irish music releases.
