Brightonsfinest Volume 2 is the second compilation album in a new series from recently formed independent label Brightonsfinest Presents. Whereas Volume 1 was dedicated to artists who were very closely associated with the city of Brighton, Volume 2 features new and emerging artists who have been interviewed or reviewed on the label's online magazine, Brightonsfinest.com, or featured on the Brightonsfinest Radio Show (Juice 107.2). This compilation will be available as a double-vinyl record and digital release, featuring 21 tracks from some of the most prominent new and emerging bands in the UK: Temples, Blossoms, Sundara Karma, The Big Moon, The Amazons, Spring King and many more.
All in all this compilation represents a real snapshot of what's up and coming in British alternative and independent music, marking a very strong second entry for a new collectable series of vinyl records that could run on and on. Last year the label released Brightonsfinest Volume 1, exclusively on vinyl for Record Store Day 2016, with all 500 double-vinyl albums sold out. Volume 1 is now finally getting re-pressed, so it will be available again upon release of Volume 2. The cover artwork for Volume 2 features a photograph by well-known and much admired British photographer Martin Parr, from a series of photographs he took in the early 80s at Liverpool's faded suburban seaside resort of New Brighton. Volumes 3 and 4 will also feature different images from this series, known as The Last Resort, further tying the series together.
