  • Description

After stepping back from Breabach, Patsy Reid has clearly carved out a niche for herself - since then she has been in constant demand to help animate others' projects, as both a musician and producer. As the youngest and twice winner of the prestigious Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship, it's no surprise Reid had been longing to return to her roots of traditional Scottish fiddle tunes, and she found a willing co-conspirator in pianist Alistair Iain Paterson. In amongst other projects they have found the time to create Patsy's 3rd studio album, 'A Glint O' Scottish Fiddle'.

'A Glint O' Scottish Fiddle' has been tailor made for lovers of the violin. The fiddle takes centre stage of course, treating the listener to the most beautiful and some lesser-played Scottish fiddle tunes as well as some contemporary ones by the likes of Donald Shaw, Phil Cunningham and the late Angus R. Grant. As for Alistair Iain Paterson, he follows every note with impeccable style, breathing life into the tunes as if they are being played for the very first time.
