Guitarist composer Juan MartÃn takes you on a journey through the landscapes of Andalucia, Southern Spain with a tribute to the poet Lorca. A variety of solo compositions, with one inspired by the poet Federico GarcÃa Lorca's dream that he would be murdered and his body never found and another by the painter Miró, take you on a journey through the landscapes of Andalucia, Southern Spain where Juan MartÃn learnt his art. As a tribute to Lorca the poem La Guitarra is on the cover with a translation by Juan. MartÃn is world renowned for his concerts, books and dvds but his compositions, set within the forms of flamenco, have expanded the repertoire of this wonderful art and brought in many modern dissonances and rhythmical effects. Last week the Guardian wrote of his appearance and compositions in Lorca's Blood Wedding: "The greatest flamenco guitarist of his generation…In MartÃn's hands, flamenco is not so much a musical style as an entire culture compressed into a quivering box of air…he deftly enhances each scene with scintillating washes of tonal colour" This is modern flamenco in its most poetic form.
