The single 'Wasted On You" was released by EMI in 2008 on limited edition vinyl to great praise and acclaim. Front man Adrian Imms got a lot of attention for his angular, unique voice and lyrics and frentic stage persona that has the same combustable and other worldly aspects of performers like Morrisey and Ian Curtis. "An Adventure In Skill And Chance" is an accomplished debut album. Following the bands departure from EMI they signed to Brighton based label Numb Skull HQ. They have had a rocky road personally for the past few years following drummerAlex Hobden being run over in a near fatal road incident. However the band are made of stern stuff and finally are releasing their debut album. Best described as a potent mix of classic indie (Gene, The Smiths, Ride, Idlewild) with perfect pop indie anthems like "Wasted On You" and 'The Brighton Blank"and introspective and perfectly wistful tracks like 'Shadows" underlining that for Turncoat, this really is 'An Adventure In Skill and Chance" -
