  • Description

Tut Taylor and Norman Blake played together on John Hartford's groundbreaking newgrass album 'Aereo-plain' back in 1971. Both Norman and Tut are multiple Grammy award winners in the folk/traditional folk genre and are legends in their own right. This collaboration is a long time coming and their first since 'Aereo-plain'. On it they reach back in time to days when folks gathered at a store around the only radio in town to tune in to the "Grand Ol' Opry" on Saturday nights. It was a simpler time, when folks didn't have so many distractions and enjoyed the company of friends and the crackly sound of good music coming in from far away places courtesy of an old Philco radio. Shacktown Road is music that stirs the embers of memories of those who remember it and sets those old tones aflame again for those too young to have been there.
