Young Scottish act JYROJETS have been personally chosen by Richard Ashcroft to open his show in Glasgow. Richard really likes the band and decided to give them a break. They were runners up in the Vodafone Live Awards (XFM Best Breakthrough Act), have just returned from playing Moscow for the second time and are off to Manchester for the 'In the City' showcase next. The last Jyrojets gig in Inverness was a complete riot with 800 fans clambering to get in (check out the fantastic video on www.Jyrojets.com). They have only been together since 2004 but have already headlined the BBC Radio Scotland stage at the Belladrum Festival, had airplay on Radio 1, Radio Scotland, XFM, Moray Firth (B list), Olympic (B list) and Net Sounds, supported The Kaiser Chiefs and The Ordinary Boys, had a track featured on a Channel 4 CD, played a UK tour, festivals in Spain and Moscow, and made history by becoming the first band from Inverness ever to sign a major record deal! Their music has been described as a heavy kick of Nirvana with Simon & Garfunkel harmonies, Beatles melodies and plenty of attitude. This is their debut release (if you don’t count demos sold in Inverness) and features tracks from their upcoming album.
