Stix Hooper - drummer, percussionist, producer, composer and co-founder of The Crusaders - enters another phase in his multi-faceted career with this recording in a classic piano trio, performing timeless jazz songs. This truly international trio have created a superb album encompassing jazz, blues, funk, straight-ahead jazz and swing. 'Jazz Gems' is one of several releases from his label, Stix Hooper Enterprises, which are being released in the UK for the first time.
As well as being one of the founders of The Crusaders and playing an important role in the creation of jazz-funk Stix Hooper has performed, collaborated, composed with and produced for a wide range of music greats, including, B.B. King, Grover Washington, Jr., Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones and many more.
