As the son of famed DJ and fiddler Paul "Moon" Mullins, Joe grew up surrounded not just by the music, but by legendary performers like Ralph Stanley, Paul Williams, Doyle Lawson and fellow Ohio native Larry Sparks who all join in on some of this collection's most moving selections--much as he crossed paths, as a young member of The Traditional Grass, will still another one of the album's guest artists Rhonda Vincent. The result is a finely crafted disc of musical exchanges rooted both in shared faith and deep, enduring friendships that lend a special warmth to the project.
