To celebrate their 20-year career Le Vent du Nord presents 'Les Voix du vent avec cordes et piano', a trip through their back catalogue with fresh arrangements, designed to create a blissful fusion between traditional folk music and classical music. Taking one song from each of their studio albums, bandleader Olivier Demers penned string arrangements for eleven pieces and teamed up with award-winning pianist Philippe Prud'homme for the piano arrangements. In the studio Le Vent du Nord brought in renowned string quartet Quatuor Trad while Philippe provided the classical piano, and then found that with these esteemed musicians, the songs worked best with members of Le Vent du Nord adding only vocals and foot-percussion. "We wanted to highlight the strings and the piano in our songs, and since the original arrangements are quite dense, we quickly realized that we had to radically strip things down by using only our voices and our feet." Le Vent du Nord is an incomparable ambassador of the French language and a major creative force of the Quebec progressive folk movement, as well as a leading group in the Quebec traditional folk music revival.

Since its inception in 2002, Le Vent du Nord has received a Grand Prix Du Disque Charles Cros (France), two JUNO Awards (Canada), two Canadian Folk Music Awards, and two Felix Awards (Quebec). The band has performed at major festivals Celtic Connections, WOMAD Chile, WOMADelaid, WOMAD New Zealand, at Quebec's Grand National Day in Montreal (2018) and, a year later, at the same event in Quebec City before 75,000 people on the Plains of Abraham.
