  • Description

Ermitage presents a five CD box set of the work of the great conductor, Yuri Ahronovitch, one of the most sensitive interpreters whose great passion led him to explore repertoires ranging from baroque music to that of contemporary composers. An extraordinary career outside Russia that began only after the decision to emigrate to Israel and adopt its citizenship; a decision that earned him a true split from his country of origin, to which he never returned, not even after the dissolution of the USSR.

These recordings were made over twenty years and feature some of the most prestigious orchestras he directed including the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, DNRSO, SWF Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden (und Freiburg), the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and of course the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

The performances are evived and remastered in all their splendour and presented in a special priced box set of five compact discs complete with booklet with lyrics and photos.
