  • Description

The Norwegian sextet Kaizers Orchestra build cathartic rock songs that borrow heavily from the tunes of Tin Pan Alley and Eastern European folk music.Already on the first album in 2001, they shook the Norwegian music scene, won 3 prices for the release including a NOR Grammy, critical acclaim from nationwide press and went on to become the highest-selling rock debut ever issued in the Norwegian language. Since then, they have been #1 on the NOR album charts with each studio album, sold out shows on most of their tours, won 3 additional Norwegian Grammys (for music videos, rock, artist of the year), as well as commercial success in Europe with many tours and festival appearance, like playing the mainstage at Roskilde three times.

In 2010 Kaizers Orchestra set out on their most ambitious project so far in their career: The trilogy "Violeta Violeta". 30 songs and three albums in two years: A vast variety of genres, moodes, arrangements, sounds and instrumentation, but always with the unique vibe of Kaizers Orchestra tying it all together.

Volume 1 is a work of inspiration, creativity, joy and musical exploration. This album contains the great ideas, and also the abilities to execute and apply them. It might have taken ten years to hone the craft, but here it was, in all its ragged glory. The single "Hjerteknuser" took the band to new hights, and cemented Kaizers position as the biggest band in Norway.
